SONAR: A Statistic Repository of Mobile Platforms

Newsletters from the developer

Status Repost (2006/09/11)

We finished to develop the mobile host clients for Linux (MIPL and NEPL), FreeBSD (SHISA), and NetBSD (SHISA) and some experiments using this client were performed e.g. [lorchat06]. However, more developments are needed for the public release because security features are lacking and the statistic module of the mobility protocols are not tested well. We are working on this with the developer of the mobility protocols.

We just started to develop the home agent client and some features are tested at a conference. It currently supports only NetBSD (SHISA). We continue the development by end of October 2006.

The data repository server is needed to update because the new clients are capable of more parameters than at the begining. This is finished by end of September 2006. We are also discussing how to provide the statistic information for public regarding user privacy issues.

We have only two running mobile nodes (a mobile node and a mobile router) at this moment. However, the sonar client will be installed into the Nautilus6 Live-CD. We then have many clients.
